Karachi: Queen Tarun Noorjahan, who has a great record of more than 10,000 ghazals and songs, is celebrating her 95th birthday today.
Queen Tarun Noorjahan was born on September 21, 1926 in Kasur. His real name was Allah Wasai while Noor Jahan was his film name. He started his artistic career in 1935 with "Pind Di Kadi". After the formation of Pakistan, she shifted from Mumbai to Karachi with her husband Shaukat Hussain Rizvi.

In the 1965 war, he sang "Mere Dhol Sipahya", "Ay watan Ke sajeely Jawano", "Eh Patar Hattan Te Nain Vakde", "O Mahi Chheel Chhebila", Numerous popular songs, including "Rang Laaye Ga Shaheed Ka Laho", "Meera Sohna Shahar Kasur Nain", added to the enthusiasm of the nation and the army.

Noor Jahan proved his mettle not only in the field of singing but also in the field of acting. Noor Jahan played the lead role in the 1942 film Family. As a lead actress, this was Noor Jahan's first film which was a success.
He was awarded the highest civilian honors, the Star of Distinction and the Medal of Distinction by the Government of Pakistan, and the Lifetime Achievement Awards in 1987 and 2002.
