Musician Wazir Afzal
The death of renowned music director Wazir Afzal marked the end of an era in Pakistani music. He was a student of Khwaja Khurshid Anwar and continued to support him for many years. The Government of Pakistan awarded him the Presidential Medal on August 14, 2010 Wazir Afzal was 87 years old. His funeral prayers were offered at Shah Khorasan Mosque, Samanabad, after which he was buried in the local cemetery in Lahore. He was ill for a long time, he had kidney disease and also had diabetes.
Due to the complications of which he was admitted to Sheikh Zayed Hospital a week ago but he could not recover. Musician Akbar at his funeral prayer Abbas, Qadir Shagun, Khawar Abbas, Moin Butt, and Bella Nasir, along with people from different walks of life and relatives attended. Born in Patiala, India on June 4, 1934, Wazir Ali came to Lahore after partition. When the duo broke up in 1968, Wazir Ali continued to work under the name of Wazir Afzal and composed music for more than a dozen films. Including many super hit songs.
When Wazir Ali was playing the anthem on Radio Pakistan Karachi, music master Ghulam Haider advised him to play the mandolin, which he did. With the help of music master Inayat Hussain in the popular song "O Mina Najane Ki Ho Gaya" written by K. Gai and Tufail Hoshyar Puri, he went on to become a student of musician Khawaja Khurshid Anwar and despite being an authentic musician for many years. He used to work as their composer. Wazir Afzal has given many timeless songs to the Pakistani film industry. He has composed music for 73 Pakistani songs.

When actor Allauddin started making films, he became a minister. Afzal was hired as a musician. Wazir Afzal's second film "Zameen" was released in 1965 in which several songs written by singer-songwriter Mushir Kazmi became very popular. "It was a super hit.
Iron Parveen and Nazir Begum's chorus song "Rut Sawan Ki Re Man Bhawan Ki Tore Nainan Kyun Sharmaye Re" and Sai Akhtar's Dhammal "Teri Shaan Hai Shaan Qalandari To Bada Gharib Nawaz Hai Allah Ho" were also very popular. The third film "Dil Da Jani" (1967) proved to be the biggest film of his career. Many of his songs became very popular. Made a masterpiece. In the same film, for the first time, Wazir Afzal sang a couple of songs from Masood Rana "Hath la ke khali ghariyan nu samjhanaan pe gaya chhadiyan nu".
The songs of the film "Dil Da Jani" (1967 brought Wazir Afzal to its peak. 1968 was the year of the peak of his film career when his highest number of ten films were released. Wazir Afzal composed music for only five Urdu films.) One of the films "First Time" could not be released. In 1974, Wazir Afzal's only film "Yar Matane" was released which was a successful film in which Queen Tarun Noor Jahan's two songs were super hits in which One was "Way to declare my love for all three of my losses" while the other was "Go today, I am yours, my dear". Most of Wazir Afzal's songs were sung by Queen Tarun Noor Jahan who sang him He sang songs on 104 melodies. He composed music for films till 1987. Later he worked in Radio Pakistan and PTV.
